Garden State Woman magazine has long been about supporting women to be who they want to be and to be able to do what they believe they need to do. We started the Garden State Woman Education Foundation in 2007 to insure that those exceptionally bright, young women we encountered in our urban areas were supported at that same level. The Foundation seeks out inner city, high school seniors who've been accepted into New Jersey four-year colleges and universities. Important Non-Profits | COMMENTS Gilda's Club Named Special State ProjectThe New Jersey State Federation of Women's Clubs (NJSFWC) recently announced its selection of Gilda's Club as its special state project for 2010-2012 at its 116th Annual Convention in Atlantic City. NJSFWC is the largest volunteer women's service organization in New Jersey with 280 clubs statewide. The entire Federation votes to designate a specific charitable organization as the beneficiary of its fundraising, advocacy and volunteer efforts every two years. The organization provides opportunities for education, leadership training and community service through participation in local clubs, enabling members to make a difference in the lives of others.
